The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company

A legend and leader in the hotel world, Horst Schulze's teachings and vision have reshaped the concepts of service and hospitality across industries. Mr. Schulze's professional life began more than 65 years ago as a server's assistant in a German resort town.

 

Throughout the years he worked for both Hilton Hotels and Hyatt Hotels Corporation before becoming one of the founding members of The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company in 1983. There Mr. Schulze created the operating and service standards that have become world famous.

Mr. Schulze is recognized as one or the world's leading hoteliers whose career spans over six decades including co-founding The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and founding The Capella Hotel Group.

Ms. Peggy Berg

President, Castell Project Inc

Peggy Berg is founder and president of the Castell Project.  A thirty-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Peggy was the first female employee elected by the PKF partnership.  In 1989, she founded The Highland Group, Hotel Investment Advisors, Inc., and successfully grew the organization to become a nationally recognized consulting firm. In addition, Peggy has owned and operated hotels as a franchisee of Hilton and Choice.

Honored in 2018 as one of the 30 Influential Women in Hospitality by Hotel Management Magazine, in 2019 Peggy received the 2019 Women in Tourism and Hospitality Summit’s “Katie Taylor Empowerment Award.” Peggy is a frequent speaker at hotel investment conferences.  She is chairman emeritus of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants. For the AHLA she chaired the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association, founded the Extended-Stay Council, and co-chaired the Council of Inns & Suites.
